It is with great sadness that the family of Belinda S. Potts, Romney, announces her passing after an extended battle with cancer, on Tuesday, February 27, 2018. Belinda was surrounded by family and friends. Belinda will be lovely remembered by her husband of 22 years, Terry, Romney, and their three sons Mathew, Micah and Harley Potts, Lafayette.  She is also remembered by her sister in law, Carolyn (Frank) Kantz, Fishers, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Belinda was born January 10, 1972 and was a lifelong resident of Tippecanoe county. She graduated from West Lafayette William Henry Harrison High School and earned her cosmetology license.  Aside from her work, which she loved, Belinda enjoyed camping, spending time at the lake with family and friends, and cooking.

Belinda was preceded in death by her mother, Jacqueline “Jackie” Stewart Craig, her step father, Donald “Don” Craig, father in law, Alton V. Potts, mother in law, Barbara L. Potts and brother in law, C. Scott Padget.

A celebration of life ceremony is planned for Sunday March 11th at the Lafayette American Legion from 5-8pm. The family is planning a memorial music fund for students in Belinda and the family’s name.  Details for donations will be available at a later time.

I worked with Belinda for 2 years and everyday we were together we would talk about life and everyday stuff and she was so full of knowledge and would tell me all sorts of things and give me advice when needed. She was a beautiful soul and a beautiful friend! She was one of a kind and if you knew her you saw how great she was! Prayers and hugs to Terry and the boys!!

  32. I had the honor of meeting Belinda on spring break in 1989 with our group from MI along with her fun bunch from IN. Over the years we all did our best to keep in contact, but families and time grew us apart. Belinda, with that glowing smile and beautiful soul will always hold a special place in my heart and I know I speak for many from MI who were having fun, sharing laughs in Myrtle Beach, 1989. Prayers and beautiful memories…forever. I’m so sorry.

  39. This is the saddest news. It seems like not so long ago we were teenagers and running around having so much fun. (Maybe a little too much fun) I have a lot of great memories of Belinda that will always make me smile. Her laugh was contagious, her smile was always so big, she could dance, worlds best hair, not to mention she was gorgeous both inside and out, that was only just a few great qualities that I have of Belinda . As life goes on we tend to get busy with our own lives and regretfully we lose touch of the people from our past that have impacted our lives in so many ways. My heart breaks for Terry, Micah, Matthew, and Harley. I know words cannot express the loss you are feeling.     You have been a friend for almost 40 years and gone through good times and bad with family and friends.
    The last time I saw you, you came to support our family through the tragic loss of my 14 year old nephew Tyler. I will never forget your sincere friendship and love for our family during our loss, anger and pain.
